Ph.D. IN BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES
The Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, It is an academic program of research training professionals with experimental emphasis. The main areas of training are neuroscience, immunology, genetics, molecular biology and cell biology.
The concepts of these disciplines are applied and depth within the different lines of research such as: Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology, Biophysics neuroaminas transporters, cellular and molecular physiology of sensory signaling, Physiology facial motor control, neural and behavioral effects of stress, cellular and Molecular therapy, immunomodulation, antigen processing and presentation, design peptide-based vaccines, immune modulation of the immune response in cancer stem cell biology, molecular pharmacology, infectious microorganisms Evolutionary Genetics, molecular Biology of parasites, molecular epidemiology and mechanisms of virulence in bacteria.
Research groups supporting interdisciplinary doctoral external partners and have become part of national and international academic networks.
The curriculum includes basic training in the above areas, the development of a thesis within the research program and an internship related to their thesis work in a laboratory outside of Colombia.
The Biomedical Sciences program is open to professionals with undergraduate or graduate degree in biomedical areas (Medicine, Biology, Microbiology) and related. Professional income in other areas will be subject to the approval of the Program Advisory Committee based on training, student interests and conditions of the Program.
